We care in every way!

MISSION STATEMENT

To fulfill our call of discipleship by providing visitation, a supportive relationship and active listening, and offering comfort and empathy to the elderly and those in need in our community.

VISION

To visit and attend to the needs of the elderly, home-bound and shut-ins of our parish community;

Spiritually, by reading the Bible and bringing to them the Holy Eucharist.

Physically, by doing minor work such as working inside or around their homes.
Emotionally, by making them feel a sense of belonging to our community and fulfilling their emotional needs with encouragement.

Last Saturday, February 9, 2019, the Mother Mary Visitation Ministry celebrated our fifth year Anniversary. Our ministry’s vision is to attend to the spiritual and emotional needs of the sick, elderly, home bound, and shut-ins of our parish, and to maintain their sense of belonging to a community.

Depending on the request of our visitation recipients, we may pray the Rosary and/or the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, read religious books or articles, or do Arts & Crafts in the bigger facilities. We also send cards of encouragement every month to 35-40 recipients.

At present, we visit a residential facility and five Senior Living communities in Pasadena, Sierra Madre and Duarte. We also do individual home visits, especially, to those in hospice care.

If you want to know more about our ministry, come to our meeting held every 2nd Saturday of the month in the Community Center from 9:30 – 11:00 AM. Our next meeting is March 9. If you know anyone who wants a visit from us, you can call Lorna Willard, our president, at (626) 533-7655.
