On May 26, 2010, Archbishop Jose Gomez was welcomed at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels as Co-Adjutor Bishop to Cardinal Roger Mahony. Archbishop Jose Gomez will officially take over as Metropolitan Archbishop of Los Angeles in 2011 after Cardinal Mahony retires.
