Message from Fr. Mike

Dear Parishioners and Friends in Christ,

As we approach the end of the year, we pause to reflect on the 365 days of 2025. While a standard year in its length, 2025 will undoubtedly be etched in our collective memory. It has been a year that, despite beginning with profound adversity, ultimately highlighted the deep bonds of our community.

The devastating wildfire at the start of the year brought immense loss, particularly to many of our parishioners and school families who lost their homes. This tragedy is an incident from which recovery will take significant time and effort. Yet, in the face of this suffering, we witnessed the best of our community as we unite with compassion and generosity to support those affected.

Though the wildfire caused an interruption to our planned yearlong 75th Anniversary celebrations, it did not extinguish our spirit. After few months of hiatus, we resumed with a powerful Parish Mission and a dedicated week of Holy Hour. This culminated in the joyful celebration of our 75th Anniversary on September 14th. This milestone allowed us to gratefully acknowledge 75 years of God’s grace and honored the legacy of the foundational Pastors whose dedication shaped our parish: Msgr. Timothy Crean, Msgr. Augustus Moretti, and Fr. Gerard O’Brien.

If our historical records are accurate, this Christmas marks our 75th celebration of the Nativity in this parish. It is with this spirit that I extend to you a heartfelt MERRY CHRISTMAS.

May Christ, the light of the world, bless you and all those dear to you with the eternal gifts of love, hope, and peace.

May the year 2026 be a year filled with contentment and joy.

I look forward to welcoming you to the New Year,

Fr. Michael Ume
