Some Important Dates

September 16 – No School – Faculty Inservice

Tuesday, October 4 – Blessing of the Animals – October 4 is the Feast of St. Francis and we celebrate my bringing our animals to school that morning and Fr. Allen blesses them.  Animals in cages are allowed for the 8 am assembly, but they can NOT stay.  If you don’t want to bring or don’t have a pet, you may bring in a picture of your pet or a stuffed animal.

Monday, October 10 – Columbus Day – We are in school.

Friday, October 14 – Jog-a-thon and Half Day – One of the biggest fundraisers, and you get 100% towards your $850 fundraising goal!  Each class has a class color, our is white.  A flyer went home in the weekly envelope about purchasing a Gator Spirit T-shirt.  We do wear our class colors a few times during the year, so this t-shirt will be worn.  Students will earn money by having family members make pledges.  More information will come home soon.  The TKers will be running a smaller track, inside the school.  We will need lots of volunteers on this day.  There will be no hot lunch offered for this day, so please make sure you pack a lunch if your child is going to Gator.

Tuesday, October 18 – Picture Day – Students may wear nice free dress clothes this day, but remember they will play and nice shoes aren’t necessary.

Wednesday, October 26 -Thursday, October 27 – Friday, October 28 – Parent Teacher Conferences & Half Day Dismissal – You will be able to schedule a conference with me for Wednesday and Thursday only.  I will be available from 1pm – 4 pm.  Conferences are 20 minutes each.  If for some reason, these days are not a good for you, please email me and we can find another day and time.

Friday, October 30 – Halloween Carnival and Parade Half Day Dismissal – Students come to school in a not so scary costume.  There will be a parade for all to see.  The 8th grade students do a wonderful job putting on a carnival where the children can play games, jump in a jumpy, get their face painted, and purchase lots of junk food.  All students have a great time and you are more than welcome to stay with your kiddos.

Thursday, November 10 – No School/No Gator – Faculty In Service

Friday, November 11 – Veteran’s Day- No School/No Gator – Have fun with your family today.  I will be at Disneyland.

Tuesday, November 22 – Picture Make up day – If your child blinked, was absent, or you just didn’t like the picture, they make take another picture and wear free dress only if retaking pictures.

Wednesday, November 23 – Grandparents and Special Friends Day 11 am dismissal & No Gator! – Grandparents or Special Friends are invited to celebrate Mass, have breakfast and visit the classrooms.  An invite will be sent home.  It is extremely important that whoever will be visiting this day RSVP!!!!  Please try to make sure someone comes for you child.  Very few students don’t have anyone come and it’s hard for them, especially for a 4 year old.

Thursday and Friday, November 24-25 – Thanksgiving – No School – Please enjoy some family time and be safe in all travels.

Wednesday, December 14 – Christmas Concert  The TKers will NOT be participating in the Christmas Concert, but they will get to see it as the school practices and when you see it as a family.  The program has been the same for 20+ years, I don’t know how they’d fit us in!  Plus, it really is a late night for the students.  We will sing Christmas Carols to the Senior Citizens that come for knitting and lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  More details to come later.
Friday, December 16 – Last Day of School for Christmas Vacation – Noon Dismissal – No Gator
