Week Three — Already?

I know it sounds “cliche” but time certainly does fly.  We are entering our third week of school. The students are used to the classroom routines and seem excited for the upcoming year. The 8th graders are working on their class sweatshirts.  This week we will start the first one of several novels we will read as a class. I will be using different anticipation exercises to introduce the background information for the novel. On Thursday, we have our Back to School Night. I look forward to seeing each of you there.

First Week’s News

Thank you for welcoming me to the Assumption family.  I enjoyed meeting so many new families this week. Our eighth graders are off to a strong start and already working on a writing piece. The students have displayed a great amount of enthusiasm with the topic.  Due to a short week, I did not have the 7th graders as long. They will be working diligently on writing as well at Literature in the upcoming days.

I hope you have a wonderful and restful weekend with your family.

God bless.

It was a pleasure meeting the 8th graders today on our first day back to school. The students seemed excited to see their friends and welcome in their 8th grade year.

Welcome back to school. I hope everyone had a restful summer break. I am excited to be part of the staff at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This first week of school will be spent reviewing procedures and routines with the students. I will do my best to keep the homework up to date on my website so you can easily access it when needed. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
