Know Your Fellow Parishioner Sunday September 30/October 1

Next Sunday, is Know Your Fellow Parishioner Sunday. Ever see a familiar face and just can’t remember their name? It happens to all of us. That’s why this Sunday we are asking everyone in attendance to wear a name tag! We will be distributing name tags. This is a great way for you to “put a name with the face” here at Assumption!

After the Sunday 7:30am and 9:00am Masses, head over to Msgr. Crean Hall and enjoy the delicious breakfast the Knights have prepared. Wear your name tag! What a great opportunity to meet someone new.

Fall Online Bible Study Begins September 13/14

Wednesday Evenings 7:00PM or Thursday Mornings 10:00AM

What are the Psalms?

How does God view wisdom?

What does it mean to fear the Lord?

How does lectio divina move us to pray the scriptures?

Join the online prayer group as we read the Wisdom books. Unlike most of the Old Testament books, the Wisdom Books do not relate scenes from Israel’s history. Instead, these sayings, songs and poems show us how to understand and deal with everyday problems though the lens of faith.

We will be using the Liguori Press book Wisdom Books: Job, Psalms, Proverbs Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Wisdom Sirach by William A Anderson available through Liguori Press, Amazon and other bookstores.

Please join  us on Wednesday evenings at 7pm or Thursday mornings at 10am starting Sept 13/14.This will be an eight week group study.

Volunteers Needed Respect Life Committee

Each October, the Church in the United States celebrates Respect Life Month.  As Catholics, we are called to cherish, defend, and protect those who are most vulnerable, from the beginning of life to its end, and at every point in between. In the past, our parish has collected items for a pregnancy help center. Fr. Mike is looking for people to help organize the collection and delivery of these items.

Please contact the church office if you are interested in helping.
